Today is the chinese valentine’s day. I received 33 roses. It is wonderful. Some ideas struck me when I smelled the roses and enjoyed the small joys in our lives.

I got a chance to climb the Songshan Mountain in Dengfeng City, central China’s Henan Province, Feb. 2, 2013. The Shaolin Temple at the foot of the Songshan Mountain is where Buddhism and Kungfu originated in China. In order to go through the process of climbing the mountain, we took about 4 hours from the foot of the Mountain to its top without any vehicle. It’s really cool when we arrived at the top of the Mountain. I love this mountain climbing and the joyful feeling with the exhaustion.
Today is the last day of 2012. Thomas and I had a language class in my office as usual. We were hardworking. I wish his Chinese and my English will be better in the New Year. I also wish everyone a new year filled with happiness, endless opportunities and high-flying adventures.
I met Thomas two months ago in my internship unit. We want to learn language from each other. So we have two language classes a week. I am lucky. Thomas is a really good guy. He is kind, patient, obligate and assiduous. He always encourages me to study English. He gives me get the confidence to learn it. I really appreciate him for his help.
23:27, December 27th Ezburg and I were ready to get back from our laboratory. To my surprise, it’s snowing. I like snow very much. I was very happy. I asked for Ezburg to take a picture for me as a keepsake.
Recently, snowing is really rare. I just remember there was a heavy snow on Nov. 11, 2009. It’s still a night. My roommates and I took some pictures in my campus. Snow made my university beautiful. I am looking forward to a heavy snow this year
It is Christmas Eve. I wish everyone a merry christmas.
I got back to my internship department from my university by train today. When I went out from the railway station, I found an old foreign couple standing at the exit. They seemed to talk about where they should go. I thought this might be the first time here and didn’t know where to go. An idea come to my mind that I should go face the foreign couple and give them a hand. I am studying English. I can communicate with them. But I gave up. Another negative idea beat me. I can’t communicate with them well. My English is not good. I walked away without greeting that foreign couple.
Do you think I am a coward? I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I always can not talk with a strange foreigner. Maybe I need more confidences, courage and opportunities to make mistakes.
I was invited to a party at Thomas’ house. I was a little worry what I should do and what not to do at the party, because this was my first time to participate in an American party. So I let my boyfriend Ezburg go with me.
The party was typical fun. We were taught how to play an American card game (Three Thirteen) and ate some delicious snakes, which were made by Thomas’ wife and another American friend. Ezburg and I enjoyed it.
Today, I got my English name, Ruth.
Maybe, It is difficult to pronounce. But I like it because it is similar to my Chinese name and Ruth is a normal and common English name but not very common. The most important thing that the name was picked by my American friend.
I deeply appreciate him for his help with my English name.

The unveiling ceremony of Network Innovation Laboratory was held on April 7,2012. This project gave Ezburg and me a chance to improve our skills of developing software and the management and coordination ability. |

I am the only girl in the team. I often stay up late with my team during the beginning of the project. However, I learned much more about my major, Software Engineering although the process is difficult. |
My supervisor and I traveled to Taiyuan to attend the 25th Chinese Control and Decision Conference(CCDC). CCDC is an annual international conference. Its purpose is to create a forum for scientists, engineers and practitioners throughout the world to present the latest advancement in Control, Decision, Automation, Robotics and Emerging Technologies. We have a paper on the conference. The conference was applicable. There were many famous foreign professors, who came from the US, Italy, Canada and so on. I learned a lot about the conference.
I also met a lot of friends. They are excellent and friendly. We went to Taiyuan’s museum and library to know about the native culture together. The below picture was took at the Fenhe River (in Shanxi Province), which is the second largest subsidiary of the Yellow River. The Chinese dragon on the river is quite huge.
